UK rail ticketing app Trainline has signed a new partnership with Spanish football club Real Betis Balompie.

As per the two-year pact, the travel platform’s logo will feature on the back of the LaLiga outfit’s men’s and women’s kits from the start of the 2024/25 season.

Founded by Virgin, Trainline operates in more than 40 countries across Europe, and helps provide the most sustainable travel options for its users.

As well as securing kit inventory, the company will also support Los Verdiblancos’ Forever Green sustainability platform, which launched in 2020 and has helped the Seville-based club become one of the most environmentally conscious in Europe.

Forever Green features as the main shirt sponsor on Betis’ newly launched kit for next season.

“Real Betis and Trainline make a great team,” said Jody Ford, CEO of Trainline.

“We are both driven by a mission of sustainability and want to shake up how people think about it.

“Seville is one of the great rail centres in Europe and this multi-year collaboration will spotlight the low-carbon choice of rail travel to Spanish football fans and beyond.”

Ramón Alarcón, CEO of Real Betis, added, “For us, it is very important to be linked to brands that operate globally, have such a high reputation in their sector, and align with the sustainability aspirations of the club.

“We are talking about one of the most used digital platforms to find the best possible rail and coach options, with different routes, price ranges, and even the possibility to choose less polluting trips.”
