Sir Steve Redgrave has joined sponsorship agency brandRapport as chairman of its International Advisory Board.

The appointment of the 5 times Olympic gold medallist is designed to strengthen brandRapport’s Olympic credentials.

In December, brandRapport was acquired by QobliQ which was set up to create a new network of innovative marketing agencies in key territories.

The agency was formed in 1982 as Craigie Taylor and had a name change to GEM while under the ownership of CSS Stellar between 2002 and 2005. The senior management executed an MBO in 2005 and the agency became known as brandRapport.

Since then brandRapport has grown dramatically and includes long term clients such as Vodafone and E.ON and new accounts including Nationwide, Magners, LV, AXA, Thomas Cook Sport and UBS. The agency has offices in the UK and Hong Kong.
