Reliance Refutes Toon Talks

Reliance Communications, the Indian mobile operator, has denied they are in talks with Newcastle United over a £260million takeover.

There was speculation that Toon owner Mike Ashley could be tempted by an offer from Reliance Communications chairman, Anil Ambani, who is worth around £21million.

However, an official statement read: ‘The news report is completely false and baseless. There are no such plans.’
