Remote-controlled Wakeboard Doesn’t Require Boat

Swedish entrepreneurs Alexander Lind and Phlip Werner have teamed up to create Radinn, a battery-operated wakeboard that doesn’t require a boat.

Radinn can last up to 60 minutes and is able to reach speeds of up to 29mph which is controlled by a wireless, waterproof handheld remote. However, this is just a prototype and the makers have confirmed that the final version is expected to reach speeds much faster than that.

Made of carbon fibre, the board itself is on the light side. However, once the battery pack and jet system have been inserted into the board, it weighs around 29kg, which is quite on the heavy side, not that this matters when it’s in the water.

The board is currently priced at around €15,000, so maybe not one for the occasional wakeboarder but could end up saving watersports centres a great deal of money in the long-run.
