revolution Secures Sqn Acquisition

Global sports marketing agency rEvolution has acquired the London-based public relations and communications agency Sine Qua Non (SQN).


According to a statement, the acquisition has been made in order to boost rEvolution’s expertise in the technology category, as well as expanding its current roster of global clients.

Specialising in tech-focused PR, communications and sponsorship in sport, SQN’s client portfolio includes NetApp, Hyundai, Tata Communications and Toyota. All of which will be added to rEvolution’s pool of technology and automotive partners, including Capgemini, Continental Tire, Lamborghini, and McLaren Racing.

For rEvolution, this acquisition is an alignment of two agencies with a shared vision of delivering integrated services, and also allows us to offer a deeper level of services and integration out of the UK.

As well as benefitting from SQN’s global service offerings rEvolution will also bring on board the business’ staff, led by co-founders Claire and Chris Ritchie.

In addition to leadership roles for Claire and Chris Ritchie, as well as current Managing Director, Chris Hughes, all current SQN staff will join rEvolution in their client relations, content, experiential, social media, integrated marketing and communications roles.

The acquisition of SQN also delivers a second UK location for rEvolution, joining its five other offices that include the Chicago headquarters and offices in Detroit, Indianapolis and London.

The SQN business will merge into the rEvolution brand effective with the close of the transaction.
