Global sports marketing agency rEvolution has completed the acquisition of WePlay.
As per the deal, London-based sports and entertainment agency WePlay has become a wholly owned operating company within rEvolution.
rEvolution has described the acquisition as ‘significantly enhancing its capabilities and global reach to advance business performance’ and underscoring its ‘commitment to expanding its global influence and deepening its expertise across key markets, further bolstering presence in the UK and EMEA regions.’
WePlay, which was founded in 2012 by Chief Executive, Luca Massaro, has generated $400m in new revenue for rights holders in sports over the past years.
WePlay, which works across the US, Europe, Middle East, and Asia, boasts a client list that includes UFC, UEFA, FIFA, Paris Saint-Germain, Ironman, LaLiga, AC Milan and SailGP.
The WePlay brand, its growth strategy and the entire team will remain in place, with Luca Massaro continuing as CEO of WePlay.
