Rewards4Racing, the rewards and loyalty programme backed by The Jockey Club, has announced that its membership base has exceeded one million members, after five years of operation.

Rewards4Racing has rewarded and incentivised racegoers to buy tickets to race days since its inception in 2011.

The points-based loyalty programme offers members points when they buy raceday tickets in advance at the 16 partner racecourses in the programme, bet online with three bookmaker partners; Coral, Betfred and bet365, shop online with more than 4,000 retailers and when subscribing to racing partners including Racing UK, Racing Post, Racehorse Owners Association and the Racegoers Club.

In 2015, 135,000 tickets to the races were purchased using Rewards4Racing points; 539 million Rewards4Racing points were collected; £38m was spent by Rewards4Racing members on racecourse tickets; and £885m bet by members with Rewards4Racing’s three bookmaker partners.

2016 will see Rewards4Racing programme expand and enhance the range of racing experiences offered to members.

Co-founder and director, Rewards4Racing, Josh Apiafi, said: “For an organisation whose mission is to ensure racing is more accessible and affordable to racing fans, it’s an impressive milestone to reach in such a short space of time. Our members continue to avidly collect points by betting online with our bookmaker partners, shopping online with over 4,000 retailers and subscribing to our racing partners so that they can treat themselves and their friends to a day out at the races. We are committed to rewarding our members and I am confident that as we enter our sixth year of operation, our most exciting times are still ahead of us.”

Paul Fisher, group managing director, Jockey Club Racecourses, commented: “We are absolutely delighted to have welcomed the one millionth member to Rewards4Racing, which has proved a tremendous success since its launch just five years ago.

“The more we know about our customers, the more we can be relevant to them. I believe the customer insights we’ve gained through the programme and understanding transactional behaviour at the 4,000 retailers involved puts us in an unprecedented position in the sporting world.”

In celebrating the milestone, Rewards4Racing is rewarding its millionth member with a racing package of premium hospitality at the Crabbie’s Grand National, a tour of Oliver Sherwood’s training yard to see the 2015 Crabbie’s Grand National winner, Many Clouds, and free annual membership to a racecourse of their choice.
