Rfl Extends Sponsorship Portfolio

The RFL has renewed its partnership with AG Barr and its Irn Bru drinks brand, following on from recent landmark deals with title Eddie Stobart and Heinz Big Soup.

Irn-Bru wil remain the official drink of the Rugby League until the end of the 2013 season in a deal that covers all the RFL’s major competitions.

RFL chief operating officer Ralph Rimmer said: ‘I am delighted that Irn-Bru have extended their partnership and we look forward to working with them over the next two years.’

‘Our association with AG Barr and their world famous brands has been a long and successful one and the new special promotional can will take help raise the sport’s profile even further.’

Last month, the RFL confirmed UK logistics company Stobart would take over from Engage Mutual Assurance as the title sponsor of the Super League for 2012.

A statement from the governing body read: ‘The RFL confirms that Stobart Group has agreed heads of terms to secure title naming rights to rugby league’s Super League.’
