The RFU and CBRE, commercial property and real estate services advisors, have agreed to extend their partnership to December 2019.

The extension will see CBRE continue as an official partner of England Rugby and become title partner of All Schools, the programme to increase the number of state secondary schools playing rugby in England.

In September 2015, CBRE All Schools achieved its target of embedding rugby and its values into 400 state secondary schools that hadn’t previously played. The next aim is to expand this to 750 by the next world cup in 2019.

Speaking about the extension rugby development director Steve Grainger said: “CBRE All Schools continues to go from strength to strength and we are delighted that we have reached our ambitious target of raising five million pounds through sponsorship and fundraising by last year’s world cup. This investment in the programme had been fundamental to its success and we are incredibly grateful to CBRE and all those who have supported.

“Together the RFU and CBRE are committed to ensuring that CBRE All Schools continues to run successfully. This commitment to the sustainability of the programme and the continued delivery of rugby and its core values will change the lives of young people across the country and together we have created a positive legacy through this innovative sport for social change programme.”

CBRE managing director Ciaran Bird added: “CBRE are delighted to continue our partnership with the RFU and commit to the ever growing CBRE All Schools community, the students, teachers, coaches and clubs that are benefiting from the programme. For us, it goes beyond the field, and gives CBRE the ability to support and nurture the younger generation across the country, helping instill the values and behaviours that come with playing the sport.”

“CBRE All Schools offers our staff the chance to give back – to teach, to share and to mentor children from different background and simply offer support to schools in our local community. In return, we are able to give a platform for property, giving young people an understanding of our sector and gain access to a rich talent pool which could one day generate the leaders of our industry.”

During the 2014/2015 season over 130,000 students experienced rugby through CBRE All Schools and 20,000 became regular participants.
