Sports technology firm Catapult has struck a multi-year partnership with the RFU, Premiership Rugby, and Premiership Women’s Rugby.

Under the strategic agreement, the Australia-based company will supply its athlete monitoring technologies to rugby union across England.

Catapult’s full performance analysis suite will be available for the England men’s and women’s national teams, as well as domestic clubs across England’s men’s and women’s elite divisions.

Catapult will supply player tracking data across Premiership Women’s Rugby, as well as the men’s Premiership, and England national teams.

The Catapult Vector System and MatchTracker will enable coaches to visualise on-field dynamics.

Catapult’s insights will help coaches evaluate patterns and trends in player performance, bolstering the decision making processes in areas such as strategy and injury management.

The deal will also see the rollout of Catapult’s Elite Vests with integrated heart rate, and ClearSky local Positioning System (LPS) to enhance player performance tracking and analysis.

ClearSky LPS will be installed within the Allianz Stadium and England Rugby Performance Centre, as well as at domestic training facilities, in order to generate live data during matches and practices.

“We are excited to begin this new partnership with three of the world’s most respected rugby organizations, the Rugby Football Union, Premiership Rugby, and Premiership Women’s Rugby,” said Kieran Dannatt, Vice President of Strategic Partnerships and Development of Catapult.

“By investing in Catapult’s technology, the Rugby Football Union, Premiership Rugby, and Premiership Women’s Rugby are building a sustainable model for the future of rugby,” said Kieran Dannatt, Vice President of Strategic Partnerships and Development of Catapult.

“This partnership ensures that the Rugby Football Union, Premiership Rugby, and Premiership Women’s Rugby teams have cutting-edge technology that enhances both team and individual athlete performance and player care, further solidifying English rugby’s position as a leader in rugby innovation.”
