In an effort to boost its domestic fan base, the RFU is selling about 5,000 tickets to children under the age of 16 for just £1 for the England v Argentina match at Old Trafford on Saturday, 6th June.
In the midst of England bidding for 2015 World Cup, it is imperative that the RFU increases its national fan base, as it looks to persuade the International Rugby audience that the game’s appeal is growing in the country.
The £1 offer is an effort to draw fans to the game, despite many of England’s most established players currently in South Africa on the Lions’ Tour.
Due to this absence, the team will put forth a weaker line up to go against the Argentinian side, which stands one above them in the rankings.
Argentina and England, ranked 5th and 6th respectively in the International Board world rankings, will meet again in Salta, Argentina on 13th June.
