The Rugby Football Union (RFU) has announced a multi-year partnership with Continental Tyres.

The tyre manufacturer will become an official sponsor to the England men’s national side, the Red Roses and a title sponsor of the Continental Tyres Schools Cup.

The RFU claims that the partnership will focus on ‘performance and safety on and off the pitch, through the RFU’s involvement with schools and other opportunities for both boys and girls to play.’

As part of the deal, stewards outside the 82,000-capacity Twickenham Stadium will be kitted out in Continental branded uniforms, and the newly rebranded Continental Tyres Rosebine Car Park will be introduced.

Continental branding will also run along the perimeter advertising screens, as well as on television screens around the concourse, entrance, and team areas, and the big screen.

Steve Grainger, RFU Executive Director of Rugby Development, said, We’re really pleased to announce Continental Tyres’ long-term partnership with the RFU.

“The Continental Tyres Schools Cup is an important part of the age-grade rugby competition landscape and support from Continental Tyres to enhance this over time is significant. In addition, they will work with us on our broader rugby activity in schools for both boys and girls.”

Tarik Gorgun, Managing Director for Continental Tyres, added, “We’re excited to be named the RFU’s Official Partner. This is the latest high-profile partnership in our long history of involvement in both male and female sport, from grassroots to the very highest level.

“As official partners of the England Lionesses at the Euros last year and through our associated Grip the Nation campaign, we’ve championed the message that sport is for everyone, while keeping safety and performance at the heart of everything we do. We look forward to building on this across our work with the RFU.

“Whilst everyone enjoys the fast-paced action of a rugby game and the high level of performance demonstrated by the players, it’s important this goes hand-in-hand with the safety of all involved, both on and off the pitch.”
