David Richards, the former BAR F1 team principal, has hinted that Aston Martin
could enter a team in the sport within the next five years.
Richards, who returns to F1 next year with his own Prodrive team, was one of
a consortium of investors who acquired a controlling stake in Aston Martin from
Ford last year.
Richards was reported as saying that F1 would be ‘realistic’ for Aston Martin
within five years.
Prior to running the BAR F1 team, Richards had headed up Benetton’s
involvement in the sport.
