Sports media company River Media Partners (RMP) has appointed Alex Carr as Head of Global Partnerships.
Carr joins the group having previously led sponsorship teams across a range of sporting events in his role at IMG as Head of Strategic Partnerships within the motorsports division for Speedway World Championships, and across a number of other sporting properties including the Volvo Ocean Race and the FIM Speedway World Championships.
Carr will join the RMP executive team to spearhead partnerships including sponsorship acquisition and rights representations.
“Alex’s considerable experience and extensive network of brand contacts will play a crucial role in the domestic and international success of RMP’s clients’ properties,” said Dominic Hayes, Director at RMP.
“We’re delighted to have someone of Alex’s calibre on board to establish a range of different commercial partnerships as the traditional sports models come under review.”
Carr added: “I’m delighted to be joining River Media Partners, the company’s vision to develop ambitious new properties that not only entertain audiences, but showcase and reward professional sporting talent in the UK, is an exciting new approach and one that will be welcomed by the brands and partners that work with us across our portfolio.”
RMP was set up earlier in 2020 by Nick Chesworth, Dominic Hayes and Ben Nicholas, and is the company behind the creation of tennis’s UK Pro Series competition, which debuted in July and August.
