Despite Andy Murray bowing out of the French Open in the quarter-finals, soft drink brand Robinsons has decided to play on the hope that he will succeed in being the Wimbledon’s first British champion in 70 years by launching a new TV campaign that focuses on the Scottish tennis player’s efforts.

The Wimbledon sponsor’s TV ad shows viewers watching on the edge of their seats as a British player is on the verge of winning. The star they’re watching, is not shown, but it hints that he is indeed Murray, striving to make that historical win.

‘It will happen again and we will be part of it,’ a voiceover at the end of the ad says, just before the commercial ends with a massive celebration.

The campaign aims to reclaim consumers and fans sentimentality for the traditional drinking brand, whose barley water has been synonymous with Wimbledon since 1934, when Eric Smedley-Hodgson first mixed barley crystals with fresh lemon and sugar to serve to the players.
