The Lawn Tennis Association (LTA) has announced a partnership with Rodda’s, producer of Cornish clotted cream.

The partnership will build on the Cornish brand’s national exposure as the “premium serve” at the LTA’s grass-court series of tournaments, including the Aegon Championships at The Queen’s Club, London.

Rodda’s presence at the tournaments will include sampling, retail space, and its Cornish clotted cream will be served within all hospitality. Rodda’s will also look to provide promotional support to the LTA’s mission to get “more people playing tennis more often”.

James Mercer, LTA commercial director, said: “We are delighted to welcome Rodda’s to the LTA family of partners. As a long-term market leader in its field it is well-placed to help us continue to drive awareness for tennis and will certainly add to the tradition and to the fun of the sport.”

Rodda’s managing director, Nicholas Rodda, commented: “Cornish clotted cream has always been synonymous with tennis and this partnership further strengthens the association. Rodda’s is about sharing special moments with the ones you love, and what’s better than doing that whilst watching a quintessential British sporting past-time. We are extremely proud and excited to be an official supplier to the LTA.”

To celebrate the partnership with British Tennis, Rodda’s is giving away pairs of tickets to LTA tournaments, £200 spending money and a cream tea experience via an on-pack competition – offering the winners the opportunity to watch a game of tennis, while enjoying a memorable cream tea experience with someone special.
