Rolex has extended its sponsorship of the Davis Cup ahead of this week’s ties, which will see Andy Murray and his Great Britain teammates take on France in the quarterfinals of the elite World Group.
As part of the new deal, the Swiss luxury watchmaker brand will remain the official timekeeper of the men’s international team tennis competition until 2018, having supported the annual event since 2007.
The Davis Cup partnership expands Rolex’s tennis sponsorship portfolio, which also includes the likes of Wimbledon, the Australian Open and the Barclays ATP World Tour Finals.
The brand also maintains personal relationships with several current top players including Roger Federer, Caroline Wozniacki and Ana Ivanovic.
ITF president Francesco Ricci Bitti commented: “All of us at the ITF are very pleased that Rolex has decided to continue as an international sponsor of Davis Cup by BNP Paribas for an additional three years.
“We have worked closely with them since 2007 and know that their values and ours are very close. Davis Cup has demanded the very best from the players over its 115-year history and this very much ties in with Rolex’s commitment to quality and heritage.”
