Manchester United and Portugal star Cristiano Ronaldo is reported to be close to signing an individual sponsorship deal with Nike believed to be worth £6m a year.
The speculated deal is believed to be the biggest annual endorsement agreement in world football and confirms Ronaldo’s commercial attraction.
The Ronaldo agreement will add to the £300m kit arrangement Nike already has with newly crowned Premier League champions Manchester United.
The Nike deal comes hot on the heels of Ronaldo’s deal to become a global ambassador for motor oil company Castrol, which will see the player fronting campaigns for the Castrol Edge and Castrol Power 1 brands.
