Former European number one Justin Rose has signed an exclusive agreement with Yahoo! Sports to become its official golf ambassador.
As Yahoo!’s exclusive golf ambassador, Rose will be providing premium content – starting with a daily video diary from The Open Championship – for Yahoo! golf fans.
Rose will also be the face of relevant Yahoo! marketing campaigns.
Andrew Cocker, EMEA consumer marketing director said: ‘We are thrilled to have Justin on board in time for The British Open – the biggest golfing event in the calendar – to enhance the online experience for our golfing fans’.
‘As the premier digital media company we are committed to creating engaging and unique content for our customers, and our deal with Justin will deliver just that’.
Rose rose to fame as a 17 year old amateur during the 1998 Open Championship at Royal Birkdale.
With two wins on the PGA Tour in 2010, Rose has also won silverware on the European Tour, including the Order of Merit in 2007.
Rose added: ‘I’m delighted to be teaming up with Yahoo! Sports – the number one commercial sports site in the UK. As Yahoo!’s golf ambassador I’m looking forward to creating some dynamic new content for their users, giving them behind the scenes access to The Open and major events throughout the year’.
