Tickets for the Rugby World Cup 2015, hosted by England at the end of next year, have gone on sale from 10am on Friday morning, with the window open until 6pm on Monday 29th September.

The process is not a first-come, first-served basis, with oversubscribed matches going to a ballot.

Fans can apply for as many matches as they like – with tickets ranging anywhere from £15 to over £700 for adults – although some high-profile games will be limited to four tickets per person.

There is also an “Increase Your Chances” facility during the application process, giving permission to be allocated tickets in the next-highest price category if available, should your preferred category be sold out.

Should any tickets be left over from this month’s window, they will go back on sale in November on a first-come first-served basis. In the spring, supporters will also have the chance to offload their unwanted tickets via the website – for which details will be announced nearer the time.

Successful applicants will be notified during October, although the actual seats will not be decided until 2015.

To support the launch England 2015, organisers of the competition, unveiled its campaign “Too Big To Miss” last week, along with a video featuring actor Charles Dance in the Twickenham changing room. Watch it at Sport Industry TV.

Yesterday fans were also warned against buying tickets other than through official channels, with ticket touts expected to be targeting the competition.
