Rugby World Cup 2015 organisers have confirmed the final ticketing details ahead of the event, with tickets set to go on sale to the general public next month.

Up to one million tickets will be available to fans across the world once applications open on 12th September and close on 29th September 2014 – tickets will be priced in four categories for all the games, starting at £15 for adults and £7 for children.

Lowest category seating for children will be available for 41 of the 48 matches.

To apply for tickets, fans will need to create an account on tickets.rugbyworldcup.com and can select up to four tickets per match. For 15 fixtures fans can apply for up to 15 tickets. Tickets are not sold on a first come, first served basis, and oversubscribed matches and price categories will go to ballot.

A ‘Match Manager’ system has also been introduced to allow fans to limit their spend by submitting an application for several matches but capping the number of matches they can be allocated.

Fans can also opt to be allocated tickets at the next highest price category in the event that tickets at their selected category are oversubscribed or unavailable. Use of both tools is optional.

Debbie Jevans, CEO of England Rugby 2015, said: ‘We are about to embark on an exciting period in the build up to Rugby World Cup 2015, as tickets go on general sale next month. The Tournament is now just over one year away and the rugby world is counting down to Rugby World Cup 2015.’

‘The application window will be open from September 12 – 29, 2014 and fans can create a ticketing account and start planning their Tournament. We have worked hard to develop a ticketing system which makes the application process easy and efficient, and offers flexibility to fans.’

Fans will be informed of which tickets they have been successful in purchasing in October.

Any remaining tickets will be sold on a first come, first served basis from November.

England Rugby 2015 will launch an official RWC 2015 resale platform next year to enable customers to sell any unwanted tickets at face value.

The general sale follows the Rugby Community Ticket sales campaign in May and the launch of official supporter tour packages and official hospitality packages, which opened at the start of the year and has seen strong global sales to date.
