SailGP has revealed its calendar for the 2024/25 season, featuring new events in Brazil, Germany, Switzerland and Auckland.
For its fifth season, the sustainability-driven international sailing league will once again stage Grand Prix races in Great Britain and New York.
The expanded 12-month campaign will run from November 2024 until the November 2025, and will comprise 14 events. This marks a slight increase on the most recent season, which featured 13 Grand Prix races.
Next season, SailGP will head to South America for the first time at its inaugural Brazil Sail Grand Prix. Last month, the league announced that a new Brazilian team would be joining the series in season five, after it acquired the rights for a new team with Mubadala Capital.
SailGP will host its first ever race in Germany next August, following the introduction of the German team last season, and will also be make its debut in Geneva, Switzerland in September. Further details on both events will be revealed in due course.
Auckland will replace Christchurch as the location for the next instalment of the New Zealand Sail Grand Prix, which will take place in January.
In another first for the sailing league, next season will start and finish in the UAE. The campaign will launch at the Dubai Sail Grand Prix on 23rd and 24th November this year, and will conclude in Abu Dhabi on 30th November 2025.
