SailGP has signed an extension of its US broadcast rights deal with CBS for the 2024/25 season.

The renewal will see 12 Grand Prix air on Paramount-owned network’s linear channels, throughout the campaign, while CBS Sports Network will provide coverage of all 14 races.

Three US events are on the slate for this year’s SailGP calendar in San Francisco, Los Angeles, and New York.

The broadcaster first acquired rights to the international catamaran racing league in 2019.

As part of the extension, CBS will provide a record 54 hours of coverage during the championship.

The deal marks SailGP’s latest broadcast rights partnership, after the league revealed TNT Sports as its UK and Ireland partner for the current campaign.

“We are thrilled to make history with the largest-ever US broadcast deal for SailGP as the appetite for the most exciting racing on water continues to grow in the US market,” said Sir Russell Coutts, CEO at SailGP.

“Coming off record-breaking audience figures from last season, CBS Sports’ expanded commitment to our league provides another proof point that SailGP is one of the world’s fastest growing sports and entertainment properties.”

Greg Trager, Vice President of Programming at CBS Sports, added, “SailGP is high-octane, dynamic racing against the backdrop of the world’s most beautiful vistas.

“They have a growing fanbase and we look forward to welcoming them back for another exciting season.”
