Barclays Premier League side Southampton FC has signed a new kit deal with adidas, who replace Umbro as the official supplier of all team and replica kit, as well as training wear and equipment to the south coast club.

The long-term deal, which begins on 1st June, will see the club join a number of top European clubs also sporting the three stripes, including Chelsea, Real Madrid, AC Milan and Bayern Munich, while new partnerships with Fulham and West Ham have also been confirmed this month.

The Saints finished 14th in the League this season after securing promotion to the top flight just over a year ago.

The club’s first adidas-produced kit will be unveiled online later this summer.

Dominic Fawcett, the club’s chief commercial officer, said: ‘This is a fantastic time for us to be partnering with adidas.’

‘As our progression as a team, club and business continues we are very excited to be involved with such an innovative and prestigious brand.’

Southampton FC announced the new partnership over twitter on Wednesday, stating: ‘We’re pleased to announce that we’ve signed up to go #allin with @adidasuk from 1st June! #saintsfc #teamadidas’

Steven Holland, senior manager, clubs at adidas, added: ‘Southampton Football Club is a very welcome addition to our portfolio of clubs. When we first met with them, it was clear to see the plans and ambition the club has for the future both on and off pitch.’

‘This was naturally a fantastic opportunity for Adidas to add value to and be an integral part of the journey the club has embarked on.’
