Southampton FC, who hit the headlines this week for the 8-0 demolition of Sunderland on Saturday, have extended and expanded their existing technology partnership with Verteda.
As part of the deal, the south coast club will utlise Verteda’s Qjacker smartphone and desktop app, which enables fans to pre-order food and refreshments from concessions at St Mary’s Stadium without having to physically queue for them.
Jochen Hartmann, Saints’ director of commercial operations, said: ‘Southampton FC originally chose Verteda as a strategic partner because we wanted to improve customer service, increase sales and have the ability to tailor our offerings.’
‘Qjacker is part of our on-going commitment to offer more to fans and ensure we can deliver a consistently excellent customer experience.’
The system was trialled at this weekend’s victory over Sunderland with six dedicated Qjacker ‘lanes’.
Trevor Roberts, the sales director at Warrington-headquartered Verteda, added: ‘We are delighted Southampton FC is extending its investment in Verteda’s innovative technology.’
‘Our primary goal is to help our customers deliver an even better fan experience at their venue and where we are achieving this the commercial returns have looked after themselves.’
Saturday’s 8-0 win for the Saints was the side’s biggest ever Premier League win.
