Max Whitlock is the star of a new series of spoof ads for Samsung, which mark the launch of a new perfume range for the brand, capturing the essence of freshly laundered clothes.

The Olympic gold medallist fronts the ads which were created to celebrate the arrival of the brand’s new Ecobubble washing machine.

The bottle is an exact replica of the washing machine range, while the ‘Freshly Laundered – Eco Edition’, which was created to capture the smell of freshly cleaned sheets, will be gifted for free to the first purchasers of the new machine at Samsung’s flagship space in London’s King’s Cross.

The launch pays homage to famous fragrance commercials, with Whitlock playing up to all the clichés, putting his spin on some of the most famous perfume ads of history, such as Chanel No.5’s ad starring Brad Pitt and Dolce & Gabbana’s Light Blue commercial originally starring David Gandy.

“This new Samsung machine is an amazing piece of kit – it washes clothes brilliantly but also doubles up as a perfect pommel horse,” said Whitlock.

“I had a huge amount of fun creating a range of spoof ads for the new Samsung Ecobubble, it’s even better knowing that I’m helping to launch a product that’s eco-friendly and is making a difference to the environment.”

Ruth Story, Head of Marketing, Digital Appliances, Samsung Electronics UK added: “The UK has officially spoken; our favourite smell is fresh and clean laundry and we’re thrilled to be celebrating the launch of the Samsung Ecobubble with our very own bespoke perfume.

“The Samsung Ecobubble washing machine has been designed to incorporate some of our most advanced technology which will help us all wash more economically whilst still getting a great wash performance.”

According to the brand, the smell of freshly cleaned sheets is Britain’s favourite smell, a conclusion it came to after surveying 2000 members of the public.
