Electronic company Samsung has been revealed as the most recent brand to consider becoming Manchester United’s shirt sponsor.
The club’s current partnership with shirt sponsor AIG is set to expire at the end of 2009-10 season. The insurance company took a turn for the worst in the economic crisis, and announced earlier this year that it would not renew with Manchester Utd once the current contract is finished.
With AIG, which still owes United a final cut of £14m, not renewing the partnership, the club has approached many leading companies in hopes of grabbing another multi-million pound deal.
Samsung is the latest brand to linked with the club regarding shirt sponsorship, though nothing official has been confirmed as yet.
Telecom, Sahara and Tata are also believed to have been in talks with United, as well American company NBTY.
