Irish rugby outfit Leinster Rugby has secured Samsung Electronics IT and Mobile Ireland as their new official technology partner.

The agreement will see the Leinster players, from academy level upwards, make use of Samsung devices such as the Galaxy Note 3 and Galaxy Gear to analyse and improve their training regimes.

Leinster Rugby coaching staff will utilise Samsung products to monitor player training levels and well-being in order to provide them with tailored programmes designed to optimise their performance.

Mick Dawson, the chief executive of Leinster Rugby – who currently top their Heineken Cup Pool One qualifying group – said of the deal: ‘The technology that Samsung will provide will greatly benefit the squad and backroom team’s preparations and analysis over the coming months and their addition to our stable of loyal and valued sponsors is a timely one as we gear up for a busy period in the campaign.’

Samsung Electronics IT and Mobile Ireland’s general manager Gary Twohig, added: ‘The team have a proven track record when it comes to international and national sporting excellence so we’re confident our products will enhance team performance and efficiencies through intuitive technologies.’
