Six-time Olympic gold medallist Usain Bolt has signed a new sponsorship deal with Samsung to promote the brand’s new camera, the NX300.
As part of the endorsement partnership, Bolt will feature in Samsung’s advertising campaign – launched this week – for the wi-fi enabled camera.
Samsung will also provide photography lessons and equipment for aspiring young photographers as part of the ‘NX Junior Photographers’ campaign.
A statement from the brand said: ‘Like Usain Bolt, the NX300 camera is super-fast and allows photographers to be part of the front-row action and shoot amazing moments.’
‘The NX Junior Photographer campaign will see Samsung and Usain Bolt work in partnership to build on the athlete’s natural love of being behind the camera and will see the six-time gold medal-winning Olympian showcase his very own Usain Bolt Foundation to provide equipment and lessons to children from disadvantaged backgrounds.’
The Jamaican is an avid amateur photographer and famously turned the tables on the press after his 200m victory at London 2012 – using a photographer’s camera to take pictures with his compatriot Yohan Blake.
The statement added: ‘Over the coming months, other activities will be launched through the exclusive partnership with Usain Bolt and Samsung for those that like speed.’
