Samsung Electronics has announced the complete squad of 13 footballers starring in its latest global marketing Galaxy 11 campaign, following number of individual announcements and teasers throughout November and December that included Lionel Messi being tracked down and recruited to captain a team to take on earth’s alien challengers.

Speaking about the campaign, manager Franz Beckenbauer commented: ‘Now that we have completed the difficult task of selecting players to join the Galaxy 11 team, we will begin training for this epic battle against aliens to save the planet. This match will be unlike anything we have ever witnessed before and I expect that the form of football we encounter will be far different from what we know here on Earth.’
With a combined social media following of nearly 200 million fans, each member of the Galaxy 11 team will provide fans with updates and exclusive content throughout the campaign, as they set out to prove that “football will save the planet.”

‘Galaxy 11: The Beginning” follows the recruitment of 13 players who have been selected because of their unique skills and abilities to join the Galaxy 11 team by agents of manager, Franz Beckenbauer. Fans are given a brief glimpse into how Samsung Galaxy devices, such as Galaxy Note 3 and Galaxy Gear, will play an integral role in enhancing the team’s performance leading up to and during Earth’s ultimate showdown.’
The video marks the culmination of a six-week long recruitment process and kicks-off the next phase of the campaign in which the team – comprising of nine strikers, three attacking midfielders and a goalkeeper – comes together and begins training for their match against an intergalactic all-star squad of aliens.
