Santander has confirmed it will lend its support to The Jenson Button Trust Triathlon for a third consecutive year, ahead of the race on 12th July.

First staged in the summer of 2012, the Triathlon has rapidly increased in size with Santander working as a key sponsor throughout.

Held in the private grounds of Luton Hoo in Bedfordshire, the event offers competitors the chance to race twice, with the preliminary heat consisting of a 300m lake swim, 9km bike ride and 2.5km run.

The top performers will then go on to the final (750m swim, 15km bike ride, 5km run) and the runners up will enter the ‘wooden spoon’ race.

On Santander’s commitment Jenson said: ‘I am very grateful to Santander for their continued support. Their contribution will help increase awareness and fundraising for the Jenson Button Trust and Cancer Research UK. I really hope as many Santander employees and customers get involved as possible, I look forward to meeting and competing against them on July 12th.’

Keith Moor, chief marketing officer, Santander added: ‘Santander is delighted to be supporting the Jenson Button Trust Triathlon once again in 2014, having been involved since the inception of the event in 2012.’

‘As well as supporting incredibly worthy causes, the family focused natured of the event ensures a unique experience and is hugely appealing.  It provides another way for our staff and customers to take on new challenges and achieve new goals, something as a bank we are focused on supporting.’
