Media reports are linking Spanish bank Santander with the title sponsorship of
F1’s British Grand Prix taking over the deal from lager brand Foster’s which
ended its association last year.

Santander, which entered the UK market by purchasing Abbey National two
years, is believed to be close to agreeing a £6m deal to sponsor the race at
Silverstone.

The Spanish bank is already a team sponsor of McLaren and is known to be keen
on extending its ties with the sport.

Officials from Silverstone refused to confirm the speculation stating that it
is ‘a rumour at this point’.
