Financial services brand Santander has retained London-based agency Sidhu & Simon Communications to activate the firm’s F1 sponsorships in the UK.

The agency will be responsible for activating Santander’s F1 rights and assets in the UK, including the 2010 Formula One Santander British Grand Prix to be held at Silverstone.

Overall the agency will be responsible for sponsorship activation including public relations, digital activity, promotional events, guest hospitality and fulfilment, and other brand activities in the lead-up to the race.

Santander’s first significant sponsorship activity in the UK was in 2007, via its title sponsorship of the 2007 Santander British Grand Prix. In the same year, Santander also became a corporate partner of the Vodafone McLaren Mercedes F1 Team.

In 2009 Santander extended its commitment to F1 by adding to its existing sponsorship portfolio the Scuderia Ferrari F1 Team (2010 – 2014 inclusive), and also announced that its title sponsorship of the Santander British Grand Prix would continue into 2010.
