Saracens’ Allianz Park has had more than 6,000 demountable grandstand seats installed into the rugby club’s newly opened ground, as part of the club’s £24 million development to create a state of the art multi-functional stadium facility with artificial pitch and running track.

Installed by Arena Seating, the initial three-year arrangement provides Saracens RFC with the ability to extend the flexibility of the stadium capacity and move the seats off the running track during closed season to reinstate the running track capability.

Arena supported the club by designing and installing three very different grandstands that complimented Saracens permanent facilities, incorporating a unique service agreement.

More than 4,500 temporary demountable grandstand seats have welcomed sell-out crowds across the North, West and South Stands of the newly opened Allianz Park.

Saracens CEO Edward Griffiths said: ‘Arena Seating has provided outstanding advice and counsel, beyond simply the excellent demountable seating. There were many challenges in the development of Allianz Park, and Arena representatives played an important role within the team that addressed these challenges, found solutions and created a stadium that is flexible, attractive and, above all, fun.’

The East Stand builds on Arena’s Olympic work – utilised at the beach volleyball temporary stadium built on Horse Guards Parade – with the club purchasing 1,584 of the company’s new clearview system, married into the front of the permanent main stand to bring the stand over the running track to locate the crowd at pitch side.

The West permanent stand has been similarly extended with 2,322 of Arena’s rental temporary uncovered grandstand seating. This stock returns to Arena’s summer rental stock during the company’s peak summer season.

At either end of the pitch are two stand-alone covered grandstands (North and South) located on the running track (capacity 1,092 each). These have also been purchased by the club, but as soon as the rugby season closes Arena will remove and rebuild the stands at the HAC (Honourable Artillery Company) in central London for Saracens in the City matches on May 16th and August 22nd.

Dave Withey, sales director at Arena Seating, added: ‘We are proud to have worked with Saracens on developing a stadium with this range of seating options, arrangements and solutions to create a flexible model for the rugby and sporting clubs that enhance their spectator viewing experience and optimize ground capacity.’
