Amidst the speculation that AIG might be replaced as Manchester United’s shirt sponsor, Saudi Telecom has reportedly become linked to the partnership deal.
Saudi Telecom already has a £10m, five-year deal with United, which began in August, to advertise on the club’s website and Old Trafford Stadium. They have now been reported as eager to fill the slot that will possibly be left empty by AIG.
AIG, who are currently bound to United under a £56.5m deal, have been hit hard by the global credit crunch and are thought to want to end their four-year agreement.
