Hilton and Hampton by Hilton at St George’s Park, in partnership with The Football Association, Burton and South Derbyshire College and main contractor Bowmer and Kirkland, are working with children from the region to ensure that the heritage of St George’s Park is captured forever by creating a time capsule, which will be buried in the courtyard between the two hotels.

Children from local schools and students from Burton College will be tasked with creating a list of items to both pay tribute to the history of St George’s Park, which is on the site of the former home of the Bass family, as well as recognising its future as the home of English football.

Greg Crawford, general manager of Hilton and Hampton by Hilton St George’s Park, said: ‘St George’s Park is a development of national importance so we are delighted to be able to work with both our partners and the local community to ensure that its history and its future are recognised.’

To launch the time capsule project students were invited to a special community day on 23rd April, 2012 at St George’s Park where they were able to experience all the facilities the development has to offer including coaching sessions given by FA Learning and a tour of the site given by Bowmer and Kirkland.
