Scottish football’s governing body, the Scottish FA, has signed a deal with sports data providers StatsBomb.
The agreement will see StatsBomb provide its statistical and analytical services to the Scotland men’s national team.
Steve Clarkes’ side will gain access to advanced performance data across several aspects of its internal operations, including opposition and performance analysis.
The data access will also give the national side detailed insight into unique StatsBomb metrics such as defensive pressures by player and team, shot impact height, pass footedness and more.
In addition, the national team will benefit from the insights and analysis platform, StatsBomb IQ. The platform will allow the side ‘to visualise key elements of pre-match preparation and post-match analysis,’ offering the potential for the team to discover trends in its attacking and defensive playing styles.
