Sela, the Saudia Arabia-based sports, entertainment and live experiences operator, has announced the launch of a new international business based in London.
The strategic expansion will see Sela, which is best known in the UK for its sponsorship of Newcastle United, expand its work creating and managing live events, venues and entertainment projects to the global market.
As part of the growth strategy, Sela will immediately establish an international headquarters in London.
Ibrahim Mohtaseb, Head of International Business at Sela, will form part of a newly-formed international board, alongside Chairman Abdulmajid Ahmed Alhagbani, Vice-Chairman and Co-Founder of Sela Ahmed Mohtaseb, Chief Financial Officer of Sela Hussein Eid, and Deputy Managing Director of Sela Osama Garguri.
Stewart Hosford, CoFounder and CEO of Origin Sports Group, has been appointed CEO of Sela’s London-based international headquarters, leading the company’s global operations.

Founded in 1997 by Dr. Rakan AlHarthy, Sela’s diverse portfolio has seen it deliver projects such as Riyadh Season, Jeddah Season, Formula E, the Italian Super Cup and high-profile international boxing events such as Terence Crawford vs. Israil Madrimov in Los Angeles, and Anthony Joshua vs. Daniel Dubois at Wembley Stadium in recent times.
Last week, Sela announced a multi-year partnership with The Ring and TKO to establish a new boxing promotion company that will provide ‘a premier platform for both leading boxers and prospects in the sport’.

Last week, Sela was shortlisted for seven FEVO Sport Industry Awards for various activations and campaigns with Newcastle United FC.
