ITV has acquired free-to-air (FTA) broadcasting rights to Serie A for the remainder of the 2023/24 season.
In total, the UK-based commercial network will air eight matches from the Italian top-tier on the ITVX streaming platform, showing one weekly fixture per week on Saturday evening at 7:45pm.
Empoli’s win against Torino on Saturday 6th April was the first of these matches to be included in the deal.
Serie A’s UK rights are currently held by TNT Sports, through a three-year partnership signed in 2021 that expires after the current campaign. This agreement was struck under the network’s former name BT Sport, and came ahead of its rebrand to TNT Sports as a joint venture between BT and Warner Bros Discovery.
At present, ITV’s broadcast rights portfolio includes the England women’s UEFA Euro 2025 qualifiers, this summer’s Euro 2024 men’s tournament, both the FA Cup and Carabao Cup, Six Nations Rugby, and the Rugby World Cup.
