Setanta Sports has boosted its football content after striking a deal for the
exclusive carriage of top-flight club Liverpool’s new dedicated TV channel at no
extra cost to the platform’s sports package subscribers.
The three-year deal with Liverpool gives Setanta the exclusive distribution
rights to LFC TV in the UK and Ireland and will be added to the broadcaster’s
new sports package in the autumn.
Setanta, which will screen live FA Premier League matches for the first time
next season, has set a £9.99 monthly subscription cost on its Setanta Sports
Pack on satellite with no annual fee.
LFC TV will be added to this package without any change to the stated
subscription cost.
Freeview subscribers will be able to watch LFC TV’s Champions League and
Premiership highlights on Setanta Sports 1 and there are also plans to make the
channel available on cable through Virgin Media.
LFC TV will broadcast seven days a week featuring match action, interviews
with star players, news, classic contests and studio debate.
