The Royal Bank of Scotland has signed a deal to sponsor the live coverage on
Setanta Sports’ new dedicated golf TV channel – Setanta Golf – including action
from the PGA Tour.
As part of the six-figure deal, RBS-branded 10-second idents will be produced
by Interactive Digital Sales to run in all the ad breaks within live coverage.
A series of RBS-sponsored programmes featuring golfing legend and RBS
ambassador Jack Nicklaus will also be broadcast on the channel, which debuts on
January 8 in line with the new season.
As part of the contract, RBS will also sponsor the Setanta Golf microsite,
which will be launched simultaneously with the channel in January.
The cross-platform deal was brokered by IDS and Mediacom on behalf of RBS.
Setanta Golf will screen more than 42 live PGA Tour events, including the
Presidents Cup, the Champions Tour and the Nationwide Tour and key golfing
events from The Asian Tour.
Setanta Sports won the rights to broadcast the PGA Tour in June, breaking
Sky’s 10-year hold on the event.
