Setanta Sports is running a major TV campaign featuring former football
presenter Des Lynam to promote its debut coverage of the new FA Premier League
season.

Setanta, who won the TV rights to screen 46 live top-flight games from next
season consequently breaking up the monopoly Sky Sports has held over the
coverage, is running a nationwide TV ad to raise awareness of its offering.

The campaign, created by advertising agencies Big Al’s and Branded, features
Lynam promoting the virtues of Setanta while selling pies to a group of fans
outside a football stadium.

The TV spot is supported by poster, radio, print, online and direct marketing
activity, which will run throughout the season. Media planning and buying was
handled by BLM.

The matches to which Setanta acquired the TV rights will be shown on Monday
and Saturday night with the network available on on satellite, Freeview, BT
Vision and cable platforms – marking the first time live Premiership will be
available to Freeview viewers.

Setanta also confirmed this week the launch of a 24-hour sports news channel
– Setanta Sports News – in partnership with Virgin Media.
