Shell has appointed Fifty Digital to run its motorsport social media channels.

Following an initial and successful six-month period, Fifty Digital will continue to ‘create, develop, evolve and amplify’ the Shell Motorsport brand on social and digital media, across all of the brand’s premium partnerships.

The Young Agency of the Year at the Sport Industry Awards 2020 will also be tasked with creating a unique position for each partnership, as well as developing creative content driven by real-time insights to reach and engage audiences. Fifty Digital will also work with Shell’s partners directly in order to leverage a global impact.

“We’re really excited and proud to be working with Shell on their motorsport digital and social media presence,'” said Nick Jackman, Co-Founder, Fifty Digital.

“The portfolio of partnerships across motorsport disciplines really is second to none and we cannot wait to get stuck in to help elevate these among existing and new audiences. Fifty Digital already has a proud tradition and strong heritage when it comes to motorsport and we’re all eager to show what more we can do alongside Shell.”

James Campbell, Co-Founder, Fifty Digital, added: “Winning new work as an agency is always a reason to celebrate, especially during these uncertain times and we’re thrilled and honoured to be working with Shell. They possess some of the most iconic partnerships in motorsport and everyone at Fifty Digital is excited about the challenge of creatively bringing these to life both on and off the track.

Shell is a partner to a number of top motorsport teams in a host of different series, using the sport as a test bed for its products, and challenging them to perform in some of the most extreme conditions.

The team holds one of the longest-running partnerships in sport with F1 team Ferrari, having been associated with the outfit since its maiden Formula One World Championship race in 1950, recently helping the team celebrate 1000 Grands Prix last season. The brand also counts Nissan’s Formula E Team and the Ducati MotoGP team in its sponsorship roster.
