Shell is to shut down the City of London next month to film a new TV advert to
promote its long-standing sponsorship of the Ferrari Formula One team.
The ad will see Ferrari F1 cars race through a selection of the world’s most
famous cities including London, New York and Sydney with the creative promoting
Shell’s high-performance fuel brand V-Power.
The London section of the advert, created by JWT London, is being filmed on
17 February and will see the city shut down and turned into a Formula One
racetrack.
Reports suggest that the production costs of the ad, estimated to be around
the £2m mark, make it the most expensive ad ever filmed.
