The BWT Alpine Formula 1 Team have revealed a striking one-off livery ahead of the Belgian Grand Prix weekend, inspired by the upcoming Deadpool & Wolverine film.
Instead of their usual design, Pierre Gasly and Esteban Ocon will be driving cars adorned in red and black, complete with yellow claw marks, in a nod to the two Marvel superheroes depicted in the new movie.
Deadpool actor Ryan Reynolds was part of a group of investors who were behind a €200m cash injection in Alpine last year.
The Jockey Club has partnered with electric vehicle (EV) charging company EVC.
The deal will see EVC providebespoke EV charging solutions at each of the Jockey Club’s 14 locations.
Chargers were recently installed at four racecourses including Epsom Downs, Haydock Park, Exeter and Newmarket Rowley Mile and the remaining 10 venues will see EV chargers installed before the end of 2024. Sandown Park Racecourse in Surrey is set to have the highest number, with 42 charging bays to become available as demand increases.
Kirstin McEvoy, Sustainability Manager at The Jockey Club, commented, “Horseracing is a sport with so much heritage, and our partnership with EVC underscores our commitment to seeking out innovations that will enable us to future-proof our racecourses and deliver on our net zero ambitions.
“At The Jockey Club, sustainability goes hand-in-hand with our mission to safeguard the legacy of our historic racecourses and this is a significant step on our journey. Ensuring all 14 of our locations have EV charging solutions and tripling the EV parking bays available for our racegoers means a faster charging experience.”
Yorkshire County Cricket Club has partnered with Sport Group International (SGI) to find a naming rights partner for its iconic Headingley Stadium.
The 18,350-capacity stadium is set to host 34 days of men’s international cricket over the next seven years, following the England & Wales Cricket Board’s (ECB) Major Match allocation made in 2023.
Ian Dutton, UK Managing Director at SGI, said, “Headingley Stadium is a ground that’s known by cricket fans around the world and everyone at SGI is excited at the prospect of securing naming rights for such a prestigious venue.
“The stadium has undergone a lot of redevelopment in recent years and its facilities in the new Howard Stand are some of the best in the country. Combined with such a strong allocation of major match cricket in the coming years, including England’s 2025 Test match against India, and Australia in the 2031 Ashes series, it’s a fantastic opportunity for any brand.
“We look forward to working with Chief Executive Stephen Vaughan and his team to develop this opportunity.”
SGI has previously led stadium naming rights campaigns for EFL football clubs Bolton Wanderers and Leyton Orient and delivered commercial partnerships for multiple sporting organisations across Europe and Asia.
