BBC Sport, in partnership with the Sport Positive Summit, has launched the Sustainable Sport Awards. It will be celebrating individuals and organisations from across the globe who are actively contributing to a more sustainable future through their sporting profile and practises.
The inaugural edition in 2022 will feature four awards: Teamwork Award – for organisation of the year, Leadership Award – for education and engagement, Athlete of the Year and Young Athlete of the Year.
Barbara Slater, Director of BBC Sport, said, “Through these awards, and in partnership with the Sport Positive Summit, BBC Sport will be highlighting the fantastic work happening around the world. Like the rest of the sports industry, we also have a duty to ensure we’re doing everything we can to reduce our impact on the environment, and by showcasing other’s efforts we hope this will inspire positive change.”

The real-life and virtual reality blended racing provides an immersive viewing experience that allows fans to get up close and personal with the best triathletes in the world without leaving the comfort of their seat. The event also gives esport fans, and lovers of sports statistics, the chance to enjoy live data from the athletes in real time.
The eSkootr Championship (eSC) has revealed it has reached carbon neutrality from inception, delivering on its aim of showcasing climate action, raising environmental awareness, and promoting best practice through sport. Working with leading partners and renowned carbon footprinting and sustainability experts, eSC has calculated its inaugural season carbon footprint to include all Scope 1, 2 and the majority of Scope 3 emissions.
