Premier League football club Brentford FC has launched a new partnership with several charities with the aim of improving the heart health within its local community. The new collaboration will be called the Heart of West London.

The Heart of West London group will be made up of Brentford FC, Brentford FC Community Sports Trust, Royal Brompton and Harefield Hospitals Charity, Cardiac Risk in the Young, Resuscitation Council UK, Pablo London and A-K-A Day.

The group will work to increase awareness, screening, research, and support around cardiovascular disease.

Nity Raj, General Counsel at Brentford FC and Trustee of Brentford FC Community Sports Trust, said, “At Brentford, to achieve success we have always tried to focus on the things that make the most difference, following the science and striving to make a positive impact in our community.

“This season we are applying that approach to cardiac health by bringing an alliance of organisations together in an initiative we call The Heart of West London. The Royal Brompton and Harefield Hospitals, Cardiac Risk in the Young, the Resuscitation Council, Pablo London, A-K-A Day and Brentford FC Community Sports Trust are all working with Brentford FC to use our collective power to save thousands of lives.”

Premier League football club Arsenal FC’s Non-Executive Director Tim Lewis has resigned from his role as a partner at London-based law firm Clifford Chance to focus on his role with the Gunners, according to The Athletic.

Lewis had occupied his Clifford Chance post since 2010 but will be dedicating more time to his increasingly important job at the Premier League side.

Since joining Arsenal, the Gunners’ American owner, Stan Kroenke, has tasked Lewis with overseeing the restructuring of their debt, as well as an extensive cost-cutting exercise that led to several redundancies.

Now, his influence is set to grow further with the increased presence at the club.
