EFL League One football club Cambridge United has announced Cledara as the official sponsor of the Abbey Stadium.

The stadium will be officially known as ‘The Cledara Abbey Stadium’ in an agreement that runs until January 2029.

The deal with the SaaS subscription management platform has been described as ‘pivotal’ in the redevelopment of the 7,937-seater stadium.

Alex Tunbridge, Chief Executive Officer of Cambridge United, said, “We are very pleased to be partnering with Cledara and to announce the renaming of the Abbey Stadium as The Cledara Abbey Stadium.

“We are embarking on an exciting journey to develop the stadium and welcoming organisations such as Cledara is an important part of that.

“We are very grateful to have their support as we start out on the redevelopment project and I would like to thank them for ensuring that the Abbey Stadium remains a part of the stadium’s new name.”

Cristina Vila Vives, Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Cledara, added, “We are delighted to be able to help Cambridge United with its ambitions to grow the fanbase, engage younger fans, encourage families, build the visibility of the women’s team and support the Cambridge community. We are fully supportive of all these plans.

“We are a people business, as is Cambridge United. The club is a central part of the community and it’s great to be a part of that. And Cambridge itself is a leading tech hub and a hotbed for startups.

“This is a market which Cledara serves and we look forward to expanding our network throughout the city and surrounding areas.”

Super League rugby league club Castleford Tigers has extended its deal with Zenith Flooring for the 2024 season.

The local flooring contractors will receive ground advertising at Wheldon Road and will continue to sponsor centre Jack Broadbent.

Gareth Hart, Director of Zenith Flooring, said, “Being a life-long Castleford fan, it brings me great pleasure to provide continued support to the club I love. I look, hopefully, forward to an even greater depth of involvement as the plans for the expansion of The Jungle progress.”

Laura Kirk, Head of Commercial Partnerships, added, “I’m delighted that Zenith will be part of the Tigers commercial family for another year, it’s really important to me that we harness the relationships and support of our local business family, of which Zenith are a key part. We look forward to working with Gareth and Zenith in the 2024 season”.

Team GB and Paralympics GB has partnered with Aldi to launch a new cookbook.

Eat like a Champion includes 80 recipes that have been inspired by athletes and nutritionists including Paula Radcliffe and Jason Kenny.

The proceeds from the sales of the cookbook will all be donated to numerous charities. Portions will go to the British Olympic Association and British Paralympic Association, while the rest of the profits will head towards the Teenage Cancer Trust, Aldi’s dedicated charity.

Julie Ashfield, Managing Director of Buying at Aldi, said, “We know from our partnerships with Team GB and ParalympicsGB that eating healthily is a key part of feeling our best.

“These recipes are simple to cook and use everyday ingredients, showing we don’t have to be a Team GB or ParalympicsGB athlete to eat like one.

“Not only this, but all the proceeds from our cookbook will also provide additional support for both the British Olympic Association and British Paralympic Association, as well as our dedicated charity, Teenage Cancer Trust. We’re looking forward to seeing which recipes our customers love the most!”
