Budapest’s Puskas Arena will stage the UEFA Champions League final in 2026 for the first time, the UEFA Executive Committee has announced.

Named after legendary footballer Ferenc Puskas, the 67,215-seat venue is home to the Hungary national football team, and previously hosted four matches at the men’s Euro 2020 championships.

At a meeting in Dublin on Wednesday 22nd May, the committee opted to suspend its decision on the 2027 host of the Champions League final, subject to the submission of refurbishment plans for Milan’s San Siro Stadium by the Italian Football federation (FIGC).

The committee also decided that the Europa League final will be held in Istanbul in 2026, and in Frankfurt the following year.

The UEFA Conference League meanwhile will stage its showpiece game in Leipzig in 2026, before it heads to Istanbul in 2027.
