Shorts: Crystal Palace, Eskootr, NFL Flag

Financial services platform Mukuru, one of the largest money transfer providers in Africa, will become Crystal Palace’s official sleeve sponsor for the 2022/23 season.  

Mukuru has more than ten million customers and has completed more than 100 million transactions since inception in 2004. It will look to capitalise on the number of players who represent African countries within the Palace squad, including Wilf Zaha, Jordan Ayew, Jeff Schlupp, and African Cup of Nations winner Cheikhou Kouyate.

Barry Webber, Commercial Director of Crystal Palace, said, “This is an exciting partnership for Crystal Palace, and we’re thrilled to welcome Mukuru on board. This partnership will help us to continue to expand our international fanbase, and Mukuru join us at a fantastically exciting time for the club, both on the pitch and off of it.”


The eSkootr Championship (eSC) has confirmed that Formula 1 driver Nico Hulkenberg will enter a race team into the inaugural season of the new series. His team will be called 27X by Nico Hulkenberg.

The German racing driver, whose career in Formula 1 spans 13 seasons, has been following eSC’s developments since its inception. Although he will not compete as a rider, he was keen to be involved and will work behind the scenes on the promotion of his team and the series, championing the greater purpose of eSC to create cleaner, safer cities, as well as making racing more accessible for all.


UK-based LimeLight Sports has confirmed that it has been appointed as the NFL’s UK delivery partner of the NFL Flag programme, the fast-growing non-contact version of the American sport. As well as the operational execution, LimeLight’s role will also help to develop the long-term participation strategy around NFL Flag.

The Hundred has announced a new partnership with with Xplora in a multi-year deal. The technology company becomes the official children’s smartwatch supplier of the Hundred.

The watch provides the innovative Goplay platform that encourages children to be more active by rewarding steps taken with Xplora coins) which can be redeemed on the platform for physical prizes and also can take part in competitions.
